About
Joseph A. Lypowy has run Lypowy Studio in Toms River since 1978, covering commercial, portrait, real estate, construction and FAA certified drone photography and video across Ocean County.
The studio
Joseph A. Lypowy set out to make photography a career while he was still in high school. He studied with the School of Modern Photography and worked part time at the Daily Observer in Toms River during his senior year, joining the paper full time as a staff photographer when he graduated in 1976. He left the Observer the following year and spent several years freelancing for the Asbury Park Press, the Atlantic City Press and the Lakewood Times.
In 1978 he formalized the business and widened it into public relations and commercial photography, later serving as an officer of the New Jersey Society of Commercial Photographers. Event video followed around 1987, and photo restoration, film transfers, editing and digital imaging were added as the work demanded them. The current emphasis is on custom marketing videos for businesses and organizations.
He is an FAA certified drone pilot, which is what allows aerial photography and video to be used commercially. Restoration, transfers and editing are all handled on the premises, so originals never leave the studio and are never mailed out.
Joe lives in Toms River with his wife AnnaMaria and belongs to a number of local business organizations, among them the Toms River Chamber of Commerce and the Jersey Shore Business Network.

Where the studio works
Lypowy Studio is on Fischer Boulevard in Toms River, minutes from the Atlantic beaches and Barnegat Bay, which makes it a convenient base for family beach portraits. The studio serves Toms River, Brick, Beachwood, Berkeley Twp., Manchester, Seaside Park, Lavallette, Waretown and every other town in Ocean County and along the Jersey Shore.
Commercial work, portraits, restorations and transfers are all quoted individually.
